Publisher NIS America has shared new details about the upcoming localized release of the Nihon Falcom-developed JRPG, The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie.
First, the VR support present in the Japanese version of the game will be included in the Western release, consisting of the “Beachside Vay-Cay” (included in the game) and “SSS Summer Splash” (purchased separately) scenarios. These events are complementary and consist of bonding episodes and minigames. Nevertheless, they can be enjoyed even without VR use.
Unfortunately, VR support is only possible in the PlayStation 4 and PC releases of the title, not PlayStation 5. Additional information about VR implementation will be shared in the near future.
Second, transfer bonuses were discussed. NIS America revealed that due to the PlayStation 4 save data of Trails and Reverie not compatible with the PlayStation 5 version, owners of the latest version get free all transfer bonuses. Furthermore, there is a planned upgrade path from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5, but as just mentioned, save data will not be included.
This title takes place after Trails of Cold Steel IV and features a new mechanic called zapping, which switches players between playable protagonists and parties on the fly. Those Trails of cold steel Protagonist, Rean Schwarzer, Crossbell protagonist, Lloyd Bannings, and the brand new character C, are the leaders of these three parties. They face their own unique threats before eventually uniting against something particularly big.
