Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Expansion Title Update 4 will launch on February 7, Capcom announced.

Free Title Update 4 (Version 14)
- New monsters
- Velkhana – Known as “Ice Dragons that Freezes All” or “Iceborne Wyvern”, few records exist of Velkhana. As such, they remain shrouded in mystery. Her icy breath is so cold that it can form massive ice walls and spiers out of nowhere, and it is even strong enough to freeze other monsters. Some reports indicate that Velkhana will freeze her rivals to establish her domain.
- Giant Crimson Glow Valstrax – Giants Crimson Glow Valstrax are elder dragons who have found a way to overcome their suffering. By suppressing the Qurio virus, they gained great power and new abilities. Their abundance of dragon energy gave them greater agility, and even more devastating explosive powers. Very few will be able to withstand their fierce attacks. When their rage reaches its peak, they enter their giant state and their bodies begin to glow.
- Anomaly research quests – Include new challenges and rewards in Anomaly Research Quests:
- New monsters, including Giant Crimson Glow Valstrax.
- A8 ★ Quests
- Anomalie Investigatio.ns to Lv. 220.
- New features for Curious Crafting including lifted weapon crafting limits and new items in the Anomaly Research Lab.

A frigid force of nature that few scientists have ever seen is making its way to the Frost Islands. Velkhana, the elusive Elder Dragon that debuted as the flagship monster of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, was seen by the scouts of Elgado Outpost. The monster’s gracefully cold demeanor foreshadows the serene stillness of the many beings frozen in its wake. By freezing the atmospheric water in the air, the Velkhana are able to form massive pillars of ice when engaged in combat, and can freeze even the hottest hunters solid. Winter winds often bring bad news, and the arrival of the giant Crimson Glow Valstrax proves this adage true. Just what this Giant Elder Dragon is capable of remains a mystery, as it was deemed too dangerous to study. Hunters dedicated to collecting more data for their tirelessly curious science teams can start Velkhana from MR 10 and Giant Crimson Glow Valstrax from MR 160. All materials collected in these excursions will of course be valuable for creating new weapons and armor with their own unique abilities.
The Qurio-curious will also have new Anomaly Research at their fingertips, with Afflicted Chaotic Gore Magala joining the A8★ Quests, and the Anomaly Investigation Cap increasing to 220. Elder Dragons start at difficulty level 111, so prepare . for a fight! Event Quests will continue to arrive each week, including two new Dual Threat Quests with Seething Bazelgeuse and Chaotic Gore Magala, in addition to an Arena Quest with Furious Rajang and Scorned Magnamalo. Each event quest has its own unique reward, so be sure to try them.
Free Title Update 4 also brings a variety of new paid DLC, including layered armor for rookie hunter Lance Gunn and the venerable Ran Page. These adorable doodles, hand drawn by the underrated talent Minoto, have been around since the release of Monster Hunter Rise and helps new hunters understand the ins and outs of Kamura Village. Speaking of Minoto, players can also purchase the “Minoto” layered armor set in addition to new gestures, poses, stickers, music and hunter voices. To celebrate the release of Free Title Update 4, players can also sign up for early access to a free palamute layered armor that makes their furry friends look like the Elder Dragon Velkhana! Those Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Expansion is available now for Switch and PC via Steam, and is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One this spring.
