Kate Middleton Wears Tiara for Buckingham Palace Reception

Kate Middleton is back with a beautiful outfit from the royal palaces!

The Princess of Wales joined Prince William, King Charles and Queen Camilla, Prince William at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday evening for the Diplomatic Reception. The event is held every year, with the royal family welcoming hundreds of members of the Diplomatic Corps to the state rooms of the palace.

Kate, 40, wore the Lotus Flower Tiara, marking the first time she has donned the headpiece since 2015. She first wore the sparkler to a 2013 diplomatic reception at Buckingham Palace and the 2015 state banquet for Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother made the Lotus Flower Tiara out of a wreath as a wedding gift from her husband, the future King George VI, according to The Courthouse. Their daughter Princess Margaret wore the piece – and Princess Margaret lent the piece to Serena Stanhope when Serena married Margaret’s son in 1993.

Princess Kate teamed the tiara with a red dress by Jenny Packham and a blue belt and her yellow family crest.

She completed her look with earrings for Queen Elizabeth II.

Meanwhile, Queen Camilla was spotted wearing the Belgian Sapphire Tiara that once belonged to Queen Elizabeth II.

The Diplomatic Reception was not held in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In February 2022, Queen Elizabeth, who died in September, followed the advice of the UK Foreign Office to postpone the reception that was supposed to take place on March 2 at Windsor Castle amid the conflict in between Russia and Ukraine.

The lavish reception came just two weeks after Kate wore her tiara as Princess of Wales. For a state party honoring South African President Cyril Ramaphosa on November 22, Princess Kate wore a white Jenny Packham dress teamed with Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot tiara.

With pearls hanging from clusters of diamonds, the tiara was a favorite of her mother-in-law, Princess Diana. Before the state ceremony last month, it was three years since Kate wore a tiara.
