DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn took to Twitter after seeing many tweets calling for “#SaveLegendsofTomorrow” and “#ReleaseTheAyerCut,” and he wanted to share it, even though the joins “everything we’re embarking on on this journey,” the studio’s first thoughts on “the story going forward, launching the new DCU, and telling the greatest story told in many films, television shows, and animated programs.”
Gunn, who shares the CEO duties of DC Studios with producer Peter Safran, wanted to open up about the future of DC and the different interests of the fans. There are many around the world, including those who want the return of Legends of Tomorrow or not. for DC to release The Ayer Cut of the first Suicide Squad, as they did for The Snyder Cut of The Justice League.
“Twitter opened at the end of a long and creative weekend to see tons of tweets to #SaveLegendsofTomorrow & #ReleaseTheAyerCut & fan support for other DC projects over the years. Most of These requests are interesting and respectful,” said Gunn. “As the new (& first) CEO of DC Studios, Peter & I think it’s important for us to thank you, the fans, and let you know that we hear your various wishes for ways forward to DC.”
Gunn and his voice have done well on social media over the years, but this new situation is pushing him further than usual. However, he wants to give these fans an idea of where the head of the office is and his current mission.
“Although our ability to communicate on Twitter has been reduced due to the performance of our new positions, we are listening and open to everyone as we begin this journey, and continue to work for years to come,” Gunn said. “But our primary focus is on the story going forward, launching the new DCU, and telling the Biggest Story Ever Told in multiple films, television shows, and programs. animated. Everything else – in this new world. We can’t wait to show more.”
DC Extended Universe: Every upcoming movie
Gunn will be responsible for the production side of DC Studios and Safran will handle the business side of the company. Gunn will continue to direct the films as co-CEO, and the first stint is expected to last at least four years.
