Check out the schedule of events for ECU at the Birmingham Bowl

Birmingham, Ala., may not seem like the most glamorous place during bowl season, but the Birmingham Bowl still has a fun lineup of events and things to do for each team before the actual competition. Both East Carolina and Coastal Carolina — the two teams that open Tuesday, Dec. 27 at 6:45 p.m. ET (5:45 CT) at Protective Stadium — arrived in Alabama days before the game and are currently taking in bowl week festivities In addition to preparing for the game.

Coastal arrived on the night of Thursday 22 December at the Sheraton Hotel Birmingham. ECU arrived at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Birmingham on the afternoon of Friday, December 23rd. Both teams spent Friday night at the Stardome Comedy Club in Hoover, where they were treated to a comedy show.

Due to freezing temperatures in the area, the Pirates are scheduled to use the Alabama Crimson Tide’s indoor practice facility the next morning leading up to game day. No media is allowed in the facility. Coastal Carolina practiced at Birmingham Southern College on Saturday morning.
